How to Reach Ghale Gaun?
Since Ghale Gaun is in Lamjung, the main road starts from the Besisahar which is from the Ghale Gaun Chowk. The locals in Besisahar are so friendly that they will surely guide you to the road to Ghale Gaun once you reach Besisahar. Now if you are coming from Kathmandu or Pokhara or any part of Nepal just follow the Prithivi Highway and once you reach Dumre, Tanahun head toward the Lamjung Besisahar. The distance from Dumre to Besisahar is about 50 km. But if you are coming from Gorkha or Lamjung then there is an alternative way to reach Besisahar from Sahid Lakhan Rural Municipality too.
Please take note that the road from Dumre to Besisahar is a bit small and congested too. So be careful while riding. And also make sure to fill your fuel tank on the highway road because there is no gas station in Besisahar as well on the way to Ghale Gaun. So you must have enough fuel to reach and return from Ghale Gaun.
Itinerary
The distance from Beshisahar to Ghale Gaun Village might be 60 km. It is not so far so can easily reach within 2 hr. while riding a bike. The road is gravel from Besisahar. And it is in the process of getting black-pitched. So the road is a bit too dusty here. Traveling to Ghale Gaun in the rainy season is also not too difficult.
You will reach Ghale Gaun within that day so you can stay there in the Homestay. The normal lodging and food might cost you around 1500 for normal. Then the next day you can roam the Ghale Gaun and go to the Bhujung Village which is just around 30 min bike ride from Ghale Gaun. I will make a separate blog for Bhujung Village so no need to worry about it. The cost is also the same as in the Ghale Gaun. So the next day you can see the Bhujung Village and can return too.
Attraction in Ghale Gaun
The main attraction of the Ghale Gaun is the Ghale Gaun which is the Smart Village too. All the facilities like fiber internet are available in Ghale Gaun. You can see the typical village houses in Ghale Gaun. The village doesn’t have hifi restaurant or lodges.
The villagers have made their own houses as homestay. So yes you are staying with the villager’s family. Once you reach Ghale Gaun you have to choose the homestay where you are going to stay. The village welcomes you with Tika and Garland on their Homestay.
At the dinner, you will get the Local Rice food along with Local KuKhurako Masu on your demand and Aachar and many more. Campfire is also available in every homestay here since the village is a bit cold.
You can enjoy the whole night at the campfire as much as you like. There is no time limitation herein in Ghale Gaun like in Ghandruk which is one positive side of this village. Ghale’s family will serve you the Local Kodoko Roti and the beans and local Chiya as breakfast.
You can see the beautiful Annapurna Himalayan range from here if the weather is clear. There is a view tower in Ghale Gaun where you can see the Ghale Gaun pretty well. And also probably the best site to take photographs and make TikTok videos here in Ghale Gaun. There are other places like Big Tundikhel, Farms, etc. here in the village.
Conclusion
Moreover, Ghale Gaun is a typical village in Nepal. So I recommend you to visit Ghale Gaun once in your life.
